Professional Development Panel Discussion

Come learn how to stand out in the energy industry from UH Alums and other prominent figures in the Houston energy sector. There will be a networking mixer after the event with the speakers including:

Darylene Harris
Darylene is currently the General Manager for Downstream Production Excellence organization within Shell Oil Company’s Projects and Technology Technical division. Darylene entered the Supply organization in January 2005 as the Supply Projects Manager, where she was responsible for the Supply Business Plan, and managed a group executing various supply chain projects, such as the conversion of the Shell Supply Chain to Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel. For the past 10 years, Darylene has also served as a Graduate Assessor for Shell’s Recruitment team. She also serves as the Shell representative on the Board of Directors for the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME).

Kevin Ding Ph.D
Dr. Kevin Ding is currently Control Systems Director in the Grid and Market Operations Division at CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric. He is responsible for implementation, deployment and operation support of Transmission Energy Management System (EMS) and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) which are used at the CenterPoint Energy grid control center. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has worked for CenterPoint Energy since 2001. Dr. Ding has a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a MBA degree from University of Houston.

Rebecca Neill
Rebecca is a native Houstonian and graduate of UH – receiving both her BS and MS degree in geology from the school of Natural Science and Mathematics. She now works as a Staff Geoscientist at Fugro Marine GeoServices, a consultancy specializing in offshore exploration and development projects, which has exposed her to many aspects of the global exploration business and remote locations around the world.

David Traylor, P.E.
David is a registered professional engineer and a retired Principal of Deloitte & Touche LLP. David has over forty years experience providing executive management, commodity trading, risk management, and engineering services to large global energy companies. As a Deloitte Principal, David led complex financial and operational risk management engagements for energy clients across the globe. David is widely-respected in the oil & gas industry for his ability to optimize the value of assets with leading risk management addressing risk interdependencies, emerging risk management and predictive modeling.
